I'm a composer and pianist living near the Boston area, who writes mostly electronic music.

I've worked for a long time with my friend, the composer Tim Risher, as part of Paragaté, a fluid group that Tim started in the late 1980s. Our thirty-year collaboration has been a big influence on me. Others threads are a lifetime of close listening to many kinds of music, and training in composition, piano, and chamber music.

I often use techniques from minimal music, especially musical processes, although my processes often short-circuit, get distracted, wander off or otherwise go haywire. Things don't change as gradually, repeat as much, or take as long as they do in lots of minimal music. Post-minimal is an OK label, and some of my quiet music can be called ambient.
