"Sail when the wind allows" (sample) (December, 2011).

This ambient piece uses mostly sampled piano sounds that have been digitally stretched. The title is a Dutch proverb reminding us that everything is easier when you have help. A 15th-century wood carving illustrating the proverb is found on a choir seat ("misericord") in Amsterdam's Oude Kerk, a place that is connected for me to some of the musical material. The opening track of the album The World Above Us.
